Melissa Polewczak

District Governor

governor@njkeyclub.org

My name is Melissa Polewczak and I am your 2009-2010 District Governor. I am a senior at the Marine Academy of Science and Technology. I have been a member of Key Club for the past three years, but it has been in my life for many more. My older brother was a lieutenant governor three years before me so I have known about this amazing organization for quite a while. Last year I served as the lieutenant governor of division 8. Now, I am so excited and honored to be your District Governor for this service year and cannot wait for the wonderful things this board will do. I have set aside a few goals in my mind for the upcoming service year, which shouldn't be too difficult to achieve.

One is to increase the communication in the district. Some clubs do not contact their Lieutenant Governors and this brings down the overall success of the district. Lieutenant Governors should set up a schedule of visits and phone calls with each individual clubs in their division.

Two is to inspire more people to help out at Children's Specialized Hospital. This hospital is truly awe inspiring and I know has touched my heart and I do plan to work there after college. More clubs should focus on the volunteering at the hospital and getting to know the children personally.

Three is to reach every goal we set for ourselves. This district has had many times where they set goals they just could not reach. Yes, setting high goals for ourselves is very important, but setting them too high, almost unrealistic will only bring us down.

Key Club is my absolute passion and I hope to bring anything to this district that I can. Aside from key club though, I am also very athletic. I play softball and cheer for Keyport High School, my home school. I also enjoy listening to every type of music and going out with my friends. I am on the phone constantly, and if not I am texting. I hope to maybe bring that aspect of me onto the board so I can always be on the phone with a board member, officer, or member. Please do not be afraid to email me, message me on facebook, or even give me a call. I want to make this year the best that it can be!

Yours in Caring and Service,
Melissa Polewczak
New Jersey District Governor
