District Convention is a spectacular time, from the Keynote Speaker to the dances, but do not forget about all the workshops that are available! Workshops will take place on Saturday Morning.

Attention seniors! Are you interested in applying for a Key Club scholarship? Well, both the New Jersey District and Key Club International offer seventeen different scholarships, ranging from $500 to $2000 that can help you on your way to college.

This year at our Hollywood themed convention we will be having an extra special awards ceremony. Wouldn’t you and your club love to hear your names announced for winning an award? If your answer yes, then you definitely want to check out the Contest packet in The December Mailing.

Greetings New Jersey! I hope you’re all having an amazing hol iday season so far, and that it only gets better! I have a few updates for you, so please just take a quick moment to read them.

At International Convention 2008, the new 2-year Service Initiative was unveiled: Live 2 Learn. Live 2 Learn focuses on helping children ages 5-9 overcome learning obstacles so they can be successful and give back to their home, school, and community.

With over half of the service year complete, we must all keep in mind our service and fundraising goals for our district proj ect, Children’s Specialized Hospital. Remember that we have set an ambitious fundraising goal of $117,300 and a service hours goal of 8,760 hours.

In the middle of a vibrant conversation with Karrine Caola about Key Club, it was obvious that she is one of the most dedicated–and all-around best-members from Brick Memorial High School.

Ben Woods, a senior and four-year member of the Pope John Key Club, was the first to come to mind when I thought about an outstanding member of my club.

An aspiration of a bake sale, after many weeks of planning, finally came out in the open in the month of November, 2008. Although not reaching its full potential, William L. Dickinson High School is know for its Key Club bake sales.

On December 13th, the Roxbury HS Key Club held a giftwrapping event at the mall. As an annual event, the club had a big turnout with both members and customers.

After attending Fall Rally, I had a long drive home. I live a good deal north of Jackson, NJ, and had a long while to consider the ramifications of the event I had just attended.

Regional Training Conferences were a total success this year. Warm thanks go to the Key Clubs of Egg Harbor Township, Roxbury, Franklin, Bloomfield, and Burlington City for hosting outstanding conferences.

Hello New Jersey District! My name is Erica Addonizio, and I attend Lower Cape May Re gional High School, the southern-most school in our District.

As the Holiday Season approaches so does the busiest time of the year for Key Club. We have made it through the first three months of school and Key Club, but now the work and planning really starts.

For anyone who attends, these four letters are one of the best weekends of their lives: DCON. District Convention (or DCON) is a weekend-long event that celebrates the end of a great service year, and the beginning of a new one.
