  • April 28th and May 5th March for Babies Walks March for Babies is a charitable walking event sponsored by the March of Dimes, an organization that works to support the health of mothers and babies. Across New Jersey, different divisions will be hosting their own walk to raise money and awareness for the cause. Reach out to your respective LTG to find out the location and date of the Walk closest to you!
  • May 6-10th Eliminate Week The Eliminate Project is a UNICEF Initiative to end MNT across the globe. During Eliminate Week, each day has a different theme, and clubs can participate in each day’s theme to help support the cause! Make it Known Monday Watch and share this educational video from the Key Club International board to learn more about maternal and neonatal tetanus. Then, see The Eliminate Project in action in this video about Tanzania or this one about Papua New Guinea. Toss It Out Tuesday On Tuesday, encourage your members to give up something they frequently buy and with the money they save, they can make a small donation to The Eliminate Project! Every dollar counts. Or, consider “tossing out” items or clothes that you don’t need. If you’re able to sell them at a resale shop, donate what you earn to The Eliminate Project! E-lemon-ate Wednesday Take a video of you participating in the eating a lemon wedge, make a donation to The Eliminate Project and challenge three other people! Throwback Thursday Post a throwback photo for mothers and babies affected by maternal and neonatal tetanus. Share a photo of any projects you’ve done to raise awareness for mothers and babies who are affected by tetanus. Fundraiser Friday To protect moms and babies from MNT, we must raise money! Use the last day of Eliminate Week to set up a fundraiser for The Eliminate Project.
  • Key Club International has a wide variety of service partners, who we are connected to all across the globe. Some of these service partners include UNICEF, the Eliminate Project, and March of Dimes. All of these organizations are wonderful organizations that we encourage all of our clubs to get involved with, and the International Programs committee is dedicated to ensuring that it is as effortless as possible for everyone to participate! For those of you unfamiliar with our advocacy focus, KCI believes that the future of children is a priority, and our service partners embody the motto “Children- Their Future, Our Focus”. For example, the United Nations Children’s Fund, more commonly known as UNICEF, works to provide humanitarian assistance to children in developing nations and in 2010, joined forces with Kiwanis International to launch the Eliminate Project, an initiative that aims to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus across the world. Likewise, March of Dimes also works towards preventing birth defects and infant death, and is committed to making sure that all babies get the best possible start. We hope that by partnering with these amazing organizations, our clubs can join the fight to guarantee every child the best possible future they can have!
